It was a Sunday morning when local animal control called about a dog found near the North Hardee’s in Bismarck - a dog in truly rough shape.

 

The photo shared with us that morning — the same one we share here — stopped us cold.

It was the kind of image that makes your heart sink before your mind can even catch up.
